In general, Massage Therapists are trained in anatomy, physiology, pathology and kinesiology. We study modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue, shiatsu, Thai, MFT, trigger points, cupping, hot stone and many more. Not all massage therapists are trained in all modalities. We choose specialties and our natural touch define what type of massage therapist we become. I am a Therapeutic Massage Therapist. What does that mean to you? As a therapeutic massage therapist, I am trained in many types of modalities. I am detailed oriented and work specific muscle groups, as well as using broader strokes for relaxation. Working deep into muscle tissues when necessary and applying the lightest touch as your muscle responds, is part of finding what each body part needs and what modality it will respond to. I listen to your concerns and your muscles as I work. Then we talk about your specific areas of issue, while developing an individual plan for you.
